  3. These files are the drivers for your HP DeskJet printer. They are provided
  4. "as-is" with no support from HP although they are supported on the HP forum of
  5. CompuServe. The only restriction regarding the use of these files is that they
  6. cannot be uploaded (or caused to be uploaded) ANYWHERE ELSE other than the HP
  7. forum on CompuServe without the written consent of HP and this README file must
  8. accompany any such approved upload.

  10. This .ARC file contains a file called INSTALL.DOC which tells you how to use
  11. the drivers with your particular software.
  12.  
  13. These are uploaded compliments of Sothern Software. We are developing three
  14. programs specifically for DeskJet that you may find useful: 1)a font editor for
  15. DeskJet fonts that will enable you to edit existing softfonts to change
  16. characters or add new ones and you can also make your own fonts, 2)a font
  17. converter that converts any LaserJet softfont into the corresponding DeskJet
  18. font, and 3)a program that makes a landscape font (sideways) out of any
  19. existing normal softfont and then allows you to use it to print sideways. We
  20. have recently issued similar programs for the QuietJet and PaintJet printers
  21. and anticipate a second quarter '88 release for the DeskJet versions. For more
